UW-Platteville Professor Dong Isbister Received Outstanding Women of Color Award

Dong Isbister headshotDr. Dong Isbister, Professor and WGSC Coordinator for the UW-Platteville WGS Program, received the UW System 2019 Outstanding Women of Color in Education Award for her outstanding work. This award was presented at a ceremony at UW-Madison on on November 7, 2019.

Professor Isbister has been leading the growth of Platteville’s WGS program, and is spearheading a series of initiatives on diversity and inclusion on the UW-Platteville campus.  She also co-authored a chapter, and translated a book recently.

Professor Isbister is one of 13 recipients of this 2019 award, which is an “annual honor given to faculty, staff, students, or community members to recognize their achievements in advancing equity and inclusion for people of color within the UW System as well as communities across the state.” 2019 is the “24th anniversary of the award through which 388 women of color have been recognized for their transformational work.”
