March 11, 2020
Dear Conference Audience,
In order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved, the conference co-conveners have decided to postpone “Resistance and Reimagination: Gender, Change, and the Arts,” scheduled April 16-18, 2020. This decision comes with careful consideration for and compliance with the recently announced UW-Madison campus-wide notice to avoid large group events. We truly appreciate all of the contributions, planning, and effort our larger community has contributed this effort, and we look forward to reconvening sometime in the fall or spring 2020-2021 to revisit the themes originally planned for this April. We are committed to uplifting your work in the future and continuing the wonderful conversations that have already begun around this year’s event.
We are saddened by these circumstances and thank you in advance for your understanding and flexibility. We apologize for any disruption this may cause for upcoming travel plans. We will refund all registrations in the coming weeks and do our best to quickly announce our plans for rescheduling next year. Please contact Stephanie Rytilahti or Lori DiPrete Brown with any questions or concerns.
Thank you again and please refer to this website for further updates.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Rytilahti, Director, UW System Women’s and Gender Studies Consortium
