Lariisa Stewart is a senior Gender and Women’s Studies major who is also pursuing a certificate in LGBTQ+ Studies at UW-Madison. Her primary research interest is in increasing disability accessibility in the realm of higher education, which she hopes to continue working on as she moves on to graduate school. Outside of the classroom, Lariisa works at the McBurney Disability Resource Center at UW-Madison providing captioned media for Deaf and hard of hearing students and is a staunch advocate for disability justice.
